Introduction
TimeFlow is a product provided by hocgin (hereinafter “we”). When you use our service, we may collect and use your relevant information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and share that information when you use the service, and the ways you can access, update, control and protect it.
By using or continuing to use our service, you agree that we collect, use, store and share your relevant information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
For any questions about this Privacy Policy or related matters, please contact us at [email protected].
1. Information We Collect
- The start time, end time, category, location, photos and notes you attach to each stretch of time;
- This information is stored locally on your device (SQLite database) by default, and you choose whether to sync it across your devices through iCloud;
- You can stop the collection and retention of the above information by deleting the corresponding records or uninstalling the app.
- Notifications and reminders refer to the local notifications TimeFlow sends within the scope you authorize when you use features such as plan reminders, focus mode and goal tracking (no server-side push involved).
2. Storage of Information
2.1 How and how long information is stored
- We store your information by secure means, including local storage (for example app data caching), iCloud sync, and the necessary databases and server logs.
- The time records you enter are retained by default only on your devices and in your personal iCloud; unless you proactively report an issue with logs attached, this data is not uploaded to our servers.
- In general, we retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the service or as required by laws and regulations.
2.2 Where information is stored
- As required by laws and regulations, personal information collected within mainland China is stored in China.
- At present we do not proactively transfer or store your personal information across borders. iCloud sync is provided by Apple and follows Apple's data storage policy. Should cross-border transfer or storage become necessary in the future, we will inform you of the purpose, recipients, safeguards and risks, and obtain your consent.
2.3 Notice if the product or service ceases operation
- If our product or service ceases operation, we will notify you by push notification, announcements or similar means, and delete your personal information or anonymize it within a reasonable period, unless otherwise provided by laws and regulations.
3. Information Security
We use various security technologies and procedures to prevent loss, misuse, unauthorized viewing or disclosure of information. For example, in some services we use encryption (such as SSL) to protect the personal information you provide. Please understand, however, that due to technical limitations and the malicious means that exist, no internet service can guarantee absolute security even with best-effort safeguards. The systems and networks you use to access our service may also fail for reasons beyond our control.
4. How We Use Information
- To provide the service to you;
- For identity verification, customer service, security, fraud monitoring, archiving and backup while providing the service, so as to ensure the safety of the products and services we provide;
- To help us design new services and improve existing ones;
- To better understand how you access and use the service, so we can respond to your personalized needs such as language settings, location settings, personalized help and instructions, or otherwise respond to you and other users;
- To show you advertising more relevant to you instead of generally targeted advertising;
- To evaluate and improve the performance of advertising and other promotional activities in our services;
- For software authentication or managing software upgrades;
- To invite you to surveys about our products and services.
5. Sharing of Information
At present, we do not proactively share or transfer your personal information to third parties. Should any other sharing or transfer occur, or should you ask us to share or transfer your personal information to a third party, we will directly — or by confirming the third party does — obtain your explicit consent for such action.
For purposes such as delivering advertising and evaluating or optimizing its performance, we need to share part of your data with third-party partners such as advertisers and their agencies. We require them to strictly comply with our data privacy protection measures and requirements, including but not limited to processing under data protection agreements, commitments and related data-handling policies, avoiding the identification of individuals, and safeguarding privacy.
We do not share information that can identify you personally (such as your name or email address) with partners unless you explicitly authorize it.
We do not publicly disclose the personal information we collect. If disclosure becomes necessary, we will inform you of the purpose, the types of information disclosed and the sensitive information possibly involved, and obtain your explicit consent.
As our business continues to grow, we may carry out mergers, acquisitions or asset transfers. We will inform you of such circumstances and continue to protect your personal information under standards no lower than this Privacy Policy, or require the new controller to do so.
In addition, under relevant laws, regulations and national standards, we may share, transfer or publicly disclose personal information without prior authorization in the following circumstances:
- Directly related to national security or defense;
- Directly related to public security, public health or major public interests;
- Directly related to criminal investigation, prosecution, trial, judgment and enforcement;
- For protecting the life, property or other major lawful interests of you or another person where it is difficult to obtain consent;
- Personal information that you disclose to the public yourself;
- Personal information collected from legally public channels, such as lawful news reports or government information disclosure.
6. Your Rights
While you use our service, we may provide settings appropriate to the product so that you can query, delete, correct or withdraw your personal information; please refer to the specific guidance. We also provide a complaint and reporting channel, and your feedback will be handled promptly. If you cannot exercise your rights through these channels, you may submit a request via the contact information in this Privacy Policy, and we will respond in accordance with laws and regulations.
7. Changes
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes occur, we will prompt you about the new Privacy Policy on version updates and state its effective date. Please read the revised Privacy Policy carefully. If you continue to use our service, you agree that we handle your personal information in accordance with the updated Privacy Policy.
8. Minors
We encourage parents or guardians to guide minors under eighteen in using our service. We suggest that minors have their parents or guardians read this Privacy Policy and seek their consent and guidance before submitting any personal information.
